The Mississippi Boogie Krewe represents the culmination of members that have worked together, touring internationally, in various ensembles for more than 30 years. Led by songwriter, vocalist and guitarist, Chris Gill, these blues men are the epitome of juke joint flair and talent. Chris shines on various guitars and brings a wide variety of tones to their set, from P90 grit to smoky slide tones on his cigar box. Vocalist Henry Rhodes has a signature sound that is rough and classically THE Blues. Henry connects on a level that is authentic and mesmerizing, pouring himself into his music, quips and wit, with passion.  Their music sends a nod to John Lee Hooker and other Mississippi Blues legends.

Sam Joyner, IBC 2017 Finalist, is excited to return to Memphis for the 2018 IBC. With spell-binding performances, he is a masterful pianist, known internationally.   Born in Chicago, Sam grew with up with southern roots. A wonderful storyteller, he is inspired that his father was from New Africa, Mississippi, and the elusive spot on a dirt road in the Delta known as “Snuff Box”. Then there’s the passionate story about his woman messin’ around on him, with him feverishly firing a gun he borrowed, with no bullets! Catch him at venues in New Orleans including Spirits on Bourbon, and at the iconic Teddy’s Juke Joint, in Zachary, Louisiana.
